A travel journal app for Android that works with no signal

Write the day down, pin the photos, fill in the map. Journily keeps your trip on your phone, works offline from end to end, and can turn the whole thing into a printable album when you get home.

On Android

A travel diary that doesn't need a signal

Journily stores your scrapbook in local storage on the phone. That means it opens instantly, survives a week with no roaming data, and doesn't quietly sync your journal anywhere you didn't ask it to.

  • Full offline use. Writing entries, pinning photos, marking countries and playing the ambient loops all work with mobile data off — useful on a long-haul flight or a rural stretch with no coverage.
  • Google sign-in or plain email, and a guest mode if you would rather not have an account at all.
  • Exports use the Android share sheet, so a scrapbook PDF can go to Drive, Files, WhatsApp, a printer, or straight to a friend.
  • Photos are copied into the app's own storage when you pin them, so clearing your gallery later won't leave holes in your scrapbook.

Requirements

What you need

Journily requires Android 7.0 (API 24) or later and targets the current Android release. It is free on Google Play, with an optional Premium subscription.

Storage

Where your memories actually live

By default, everything is on the device — entries, photo copies and audio recordings. If you turn on cloud backup with a Premium subscription, a compressed copy is stored against your own account so you can restore it onto a new phone. You can delete that cloud copy from inside the app at any time.

Questions

Before you download

Does Journily work offline on Android?

Yes. Journal entries, photos, the country map and the ambient sound library all work without a connection. AI recaps and cloud backup are the only features that need internet.

Do I need a Google account?

No. You can use Journily without signing in at all. An account is only required for AI recaps and cloud backup, and you can use email sign-up instead of Google if you prefer.

What Android version does Journily support?

Android 7.0 (API level 24) and above.

Can I move my scrapbook to a new phone?

Yes, with Premium cloud backup switched on. Sign in on the new device and restore, and your entries, photos and audio come back down. Without cloud backup, the scrapbook stays only on the original device.
