1. Memory Ownership Philosophy

At Journily, we believe your travel memories, journal reflections, photos, and emotional experiences belong uniquely to you. Our technology is designed to preserve, organize, and enhance your stories—never to harvest, monetize, or sell them. We have zero interest in tracking your location in the background or advertising to you based on your destination logs.

2. Local-First Data Storage

By default, Journily operates as an offline-first application. All your trip chapters, coordinates, text reflections, and photo references are written directly to local device memory using secure Hive binary stores. This data does not leave your mobile device unless you explicitly opt to enable Cloud Synchronization.

3. Optional Cloud Synchronization

If you choose to register an account (via email, Google, or Apple accounts) and toggle Cloud Sync, your memory databases will be securely backed up to Firebase. This backup serves to restore your journals if you switch devices or lose your phone.

Absolute Deletion Guarantee: You retain absolute control over this cloud database. You can trigger a complete account deletion from the app settings menu at any time. When you select this option, our databases wipe all your stored trips, media associations, and account metadata immediately and irreversibly.

4. AI Processing Privacy

Journily's premium AI features (weaving trip stories, compiling prompts, and extracting highlights) process your journals to summarize them. The AI engines do not store or use your memories to train public models. We utilize specialized APIs with strict terms preventing data persistence or training usage.

5. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect or store:

Your continuous background GPS location logs.
Any metadata relating to your flight bookings, hotel reservations, or itinerary budgets.
Social networking profiles or contact lists.
